Got Green and our Targeted Local Hire Coalition partners packed City Hall on September 18th for the first reading of the Targeted Local Hire Ordinance [renamed “Priority Hire]. Rainier Beach Moving Forward President Gregory Davis said it best, “Unless our voice is involved in what goes down in our neighborhood, the work is incomplete.” Racial Justice, Jobs for the unemployed, Opportunities for women workers, and Environmental Justice – all themes were highlighted in Council’s discussion.
